Some people love gold. Golden jewelry, golden beds, golden golf clubs, golden towers, golden hair — so why shouldn’t they enjoy “golden showers” too? Sometimes referred to as “watersports”, it’s a surprisingly popular fetish in which people either enjoy being urinated on, or urinating on their partner. In light of recent news, our friends at Mashable reached out and wee decided to take a more in depth look. So if urine to it, please read on.
By January 11th, searches containing “Golden Shower” increased by 289% compared to the usual daily average. Our statisticians also found that “watersports” searches increased by 215% along with other related terms like “pissing”.
It turns out that the demographic most likely to search for golden showers is men over the age of 65. Proportionately, men are 24% more likely to search than women, and Pornhub visitors over the age of 65 are 75% more likely to search when compared to all other age groups. Popularity is lowest with visitors aged 18 to 24, but continues to grow with age.
By far the most popular related search term is “piss”, followed by “pissing” and “pee” with “golden shower” ranking 4th and “watersports” 6th.
Across the United States, golden showers seem to be more popular in Northern States — perhaps as a way to keep warm in the winter? Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts proportionately search more often, while popularity is much lower down south in Hawaii, Mississippi, Texas and California.
Worldwide, it’s Pornhub visitors from Europe who most enjoy seeing golden showers. Proportionately, it’s most popular in the Czech Republic, followed by Australia, Switzerland and Germany. Our friends in Russia are the 5th most likely country to be looking for videos featuring golden showers – regardless of appears in them.

2. Alaska tends not to do much in the way of golden showers because their piss turns into ice cubes before it hits their partner.
3. Russia ranks 5th for two reasons: they want to know how their underage daughters
scored so much cash, and others are using it for educational purposes, when the rest of the US delegation shows up.
4. The 18 to 35-year-old men are not curious about golden showers because they’re still into roshambo, nut shots, and the occasional ball bash. They do fantasize about it, however, what with all the beer they drink.
